The BX-220's slitless/fanless design eliminates the heat dissipating slit and CPU fan and adopts a CFast card for storage. Unlike open systems which can degrade over time due to the build-up of dust and grime, the BX-220s closed system is protected to provide increased reliability and reduced maintenance.
The BX-220 supports a wide variety of extended interfaces such as DVI-I x 1, Display Port x 1, 10000BASE-T x 2, USB3.0 x 1, and serial (RS-232C) x 2. It has two CFast card slots (one built into the main unit), providing the ability to separate data from the operating system, as well as the convenience of being able to use one slot for system startup and the other for maintenance or taking home system logs or collected data.
The BX-220 was designed with the toughest industrial environments in mind. Its fanless design is shock and grime resistant.
The built-in sub-CPU for monitoring offers the ability to save failure logs to document start-up failures, abnormal temperatures, abnormal OS operation. It can also record media swapped during start-up and has the ability to restart the OS or the device.
The BX-220 supports system startup by an external device over a network (Wake-on-LAN), by general-purpose input (power on by GPI) and by modem reception (power on by ring).
